The River Gardens project marks a significant milestone in the Karlín Group’s role as a land developer. It follows an established practice of engaging in international urban planning and architectural workshops. The result of this professional collaboration involved twelve prominent European architectural firms, with six of them selected to contribute to the design of this extensive redevelopment of the Rohanský Island area.
The project combines residential housing on the northern side, facing the river, with office and commercial spaces along the Rohanský embankment. The design incorporates essential elements of a vibrant, modern city, including green spaces, pedestrian zones, parking, transportation links, and ground-floor spaces for services. This balanced approach ensures the creation of a functional and dynamic urban environment.
The River Gardens project was developed through contributions from leading international architectural teams, including David Chipperfield Architects, Baumschlager – Eberle, Meili Peter Architekten, EM2N Architekten, 4a architekti, Architekti Hrůša & spol., and Ateliér Brno. This wide range of expertise has helped shape a comprehensive vision for the transformation of this prominent area along the Vltava River.
