Block B is a multifunctional redevelopment project in the heart of Karlín, spearheaded by the Karlín Group. The project involved the reconstruction and extension of a historic building located at the intersection of Thámova and Pernerova streets. The most valuable elements of the original architecture, particularly the corner building with brick vaults, were preserved and integrated into the new multifunctional block of buildings.
The architecture of Block B responds to the diverse typology and functions of Karlín, combining elements such as narrow plots, industrial warehouses, and residential buildings. The project accounts for the height differences in the area, contributing to a diversified urban landscape. The new construction seamlessly integrates with the existing buildings, embracing the simplicity typical of industrial architecture.
The development offers a dynamic mix of uses, with office spaces and rental apartments ranging from 26–117 m². The ground floor and lower levels feature retail shops, restaurants, and services. The complex creates a spacious pedestrian passage (inner courtyard), frequented by retail customers and is used for public events.
